Description:
The tenement block which encompasses 956 to 976 Govan Road and 5
Rathlin Street has been completely refurbished.
Govan Housing Association, with funding from Glasgow City
Council and the Royal Bank of Scotland, has restored the blonde
sandstone building to its former glory and updated the interiors to
the needs of the 21st century.
The development creates 19 one and two bedroom flats in the
refurbished, tenement property.
The interiors are finished to a high quality
specification which includes, new double glazed windows, gas
central heating, modern, fitted kitchens and bathrooms. Some
properties also feature en-suites. To complete the
project the closes were upgraded and new security doors and video
door entry systems fitted.
6 of the properties were sold through the low cost home
ownership (LCHO) scheme with the remainder rented out. This
project contributes to the vibrancy, regeneration and
sustainability of the Govan area.
This project is one of the Central Govan Action Plan
Housing Projects.
