Description:

Plans for an ambitious leisure and retail development in Royal Exchange Square have been submitted for Planning.

James Mortimer's Glenerrol have lodged plans for a 100 bed hotel, high-end retail units, bars, restaurants and a casino.  The project would require the demolition of a number of B-listed properties, which were built in the 19th Century, although the facades would remain.

A major element of the project is to utilise the alleys and lanes which connect Buchanan Street and Queen Street, with the aim of attracting footfall into the site with a new retail arcade and hotel entrance at the heart of the development.
