This year's MOBO Awards will be the first multi-artist, televised event at the newly opened SSE Hydro.
Trevor Nelson MBE and Sarah-Jane Crawford will host this year's
18th anniversary MOBO Awards in Glasgow on 19 October.
As one of BBC radio's most prestigious and long-standing urban
music DJs and winner of four MOBO Awards, Trevor Nelson MBE will be
bringing his endless knowledge and infectious personality to the
stage at Glasgow's brand new SSE Hydro on Saturday, October 19.
He'll be joined on stage by fellow presenter and international
DJ, Sarah-Jane Crawford who is currently the leading lady of BBC
Radio 1Xtra. She is one of the most popular figures in UK
broadcasting, holding record audience figures for the Monday to
Friday afternoon time slot. Most recently, Sarah-Jane hosted the
coverage of BBC 3's first ever 'Urban Proms' in August and helped
bring an edge to a traditional music event.
MOBO Awards founder and CEO, Kanya King MBE said, "Both Trevor
and Sarah-Jane have always been hugely supportive of MOBO and
everything the organisation stands for. As it is our 18th
anniversary year - a big one for us, it's wonderful to have hosts
on board that we know will put on a great show, love the music and
are at the heartbeat of young Britain. This is our third year in
Glasgow, a result of a successful partnership between
EventScotland, Glasgow City Marketing Bureau and MOBO. We're
determined to make it an unforgettable evening!"
As a UNESCO city of music, Glasgow enjoys an enviable reputation
as one of the world's top music destinations.
