As we head into 2012, here are some highlight projects that represent the continuing regeneration of Clyde Waterfront: some nearing completion, some well under way and others that will get started in the course of the year.

Completing during the year...

A number of Clyde Waterfront's prominent projects will be completed during 2012.

South Glasgow Hospital Lab

Building work on this major element of the South Glasgow Hospital is already complete, with the internal fit-out now well under way and due for completion in March. The £75m laboratory will be linked to the new adult and children's hospitals via an underground tunnel.

Park Mains School

A new £33m school will provide modern facilities for pupils from Erskine and the surrounding area.  Build work is on schedule and the new school will be ready for use in August 2012.

Lomondgate Aggreko

Aggreko, the world's leading temporary power and temperature control provider, is creating a £20m manufacturing facility on the Lomondgate development at Dumbarton. Building work is complete with the internal fit-out underway.

Clydebank Town Hall

The £3.3m refurbishment of Clydebank Town Hall will be completed in 2012. The bronze statue of Mercury - which toppled from the top of the Town Hall clock during a fierce storm in January 1968 - is to take pride of place in the new lobby.

Well under way...

Major long-term projects will continue to take shape during year, contributing to the regeneration of the whole area.

Scottish Hydro Arena

Created by world-renowned architects Foster and Partners, who also designed the SECC's Clyde Auditorium, Scotland's new national arena will seat 12,000 and will be the largest entertainments venue in Scotland. The £120 million development is due to complete in 2013, ahead of the Commonwealth Games.

South Glasgow Hospital

The South Glasgow Hospital development involves the expansion of one hospital and the construction of two new hospitals to create one of the largest hospital complexes in Europe. The £842 million project is due for completion in 2015.

Ferry Village

This major housing development between Renfrew and Braehead continues to grow. Housebuilders include Miller, Redrow, Wimpey, McCarthy & Stone, Sovereign Fairbriar and Best Developments.

Lomondgate Residential

House building is now well underway at this location on the edge of Dumbarton, close to Loch Lomond. Walker, Persimmon and Taylor Wimpey are all onsite.

Getting started this year...

Projects which will get underway in the course of this year along the waterfront.

Broomielaw Quay

Plans to create a stylish new £10m restaurant quarter on the waterfront within Glasgow city centre were approved  in the autumn and work on the £10m project will get going during 2012.

Fastlink

The Scottish Government is providing £40m of funding for this major transport infrastructure project, which will provide vital links along the Waterfront. Work will start this year, with plans for the new system to be in place in time for the Commonwealth Games.

Central Quay

A masterplan is being developed for phase 3 of the Central Quay development. This major mixed use development by Goodman will complete the £200m project and work is likely to start in the course of the year.

Minerva

Building work will begin soon on a £4.5 million housing project in Minerva Street. The development will provide 55 new city centre flats.
