08 Apr 2011

Insurance giant NFU Mutual is recruiting almost 70 staff at Centenary House in the International financial Services District, with more than half helping launch a 24-hour call centre for customers across the UK.

New jobs in NFU Mutual's new city centre offices are being create in their call centre, claims and underwriting. The recruitment drive supports the launch of a new 24-hour call centre for customers across the UK.

The jobs boost was confirmed at the official opening the Scottish HQ and call centre at Centenary House, on the corner of Wellington Street and Cadogan Street.

The 10-floor office block - previously named Clarion - in the heart of Glasgow's prestigious international financial services district was bought last year by the firm in a multi-million pound deal.

It was renamed Centenary House because the company celebrated its centenary last September.

Insurance chiefs who also handle investment products are to use six floors to house more than 300 workers.

Up to 130 have been moved from their previous headquarters in the city's Bath Street, while more than 190 call centre workers employed by sister firm NFU Mutual Direct have been switched from the Guildhall, in Queen Street.
