The Briggait opening weekend

19 Jul 2010

The Briggait, a stunning Grade A listed building in Glasgow’s medieval quarter, the Merchant City, has been redeveloped to provide a new home for artists and cutural organisations.

Wasps Studios are offering an open invitation to join them for the launch of The Briggait, Glasgow's historic Fish Market, which has been redeveloped into a beautiful new home for 80 artists and arts organisations.

Come along on 24 and 25 July to meet with artists in their studios, enjoy one of the many activities or simply marvel at the Briggait's stunning architecture.

Originally built in 1873, the Briggait was the city's fish market for over 100 years.

The Briggait will open to the public on a daily basis from August 2010, following an open studios launch event on 24th & 25th July during the Merchant City Festival weekend. Everyone is invited!

A full programme of activities is on offer as part of the launch.
