Redevelopment at Central Quay

08 Dec 2010

The Central Quay offices of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants are to be refurbished in a £500K project.

A major expansion by a professional body in Glasgow will see a £500,000 new-look office development.

The refurbishment of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants' (ACCA) Scottish HQ in Central Quay is part of a development "masterplan" by property giants Goodman Group.

The half-million-pound makeover will accommodate more staff at the ACCA, the global body for professional accountants, which has seen employee numbers double to 418 in the past six years.

The refurbishment will focus on the ground and first floor of ACCA's 30,000sq ft Central Quay office on the Broomielaw and will include the addition of 5000sq ft of temporary accommodation in Hydepark Street in Glasgow's International Financial District.

Goodman Group, who are heading up the project, say the work will provide more desk space, relaxing areas for staff and new air conditioning in three offices.

Niall McGilp, regional development director at Goodman, said: "The existing office buildings at Central Quay business park are now fully occupied and we are currently developing the next stages of the masterplan which will set out our proposals for future phases of the site's development,

"We are planning a range of new office buildings and other amenities to be built at the current location.

"Goodman's business parks and buildings offer customers flexible space, allowing us to design and develop internal space plans to the exact specifications of any occupier.

"Our strong track record in delivering this service to ACCA means we are able to alter office layouts with minimum disruption to staff and the day-to-day operation of their business."
