One of Glasgow’s most exclusive venues, The Corinthian in Ingram Street has triggered a jobs rush.

The new-look Corinthian wants to hire 200 staff - from managers to waiting staff - and more than 1000 potential recruits turned up for open days in the hope of landing a job.

And G1 Group which owns the former Glasgow Sheriff Court in Ingram Street predicts another 1000 hopefuls will attend a third and final recruitment day on Monday at at sister venue Arta in Albion Street.

A spokeswoman said: "We hope to build on the success of our previous two recruitment days with another great turnout."

Potential recruits will undergo a short interview on the day and, if successful, will be invited back for a second involving senior managers.

The vacancies have attracted applicants from as far away as Aberdeen and London.

Stefan King's G1 Group is spending millions of pounds refurbishing one of the city's best food and drink establishments - but it won't divulge what the final bill will be or how many of the 200 jobs will be permanent.
