Fire and Ice climax for Visit Scotland Expo

26 Apr 2010

Clyde Waterfront was an exhibitor at the successful Visit Scotland Expo which took place at Glasgow's SECC during April and a sponsor for some popular river trips.

The networking event, Fire and Ice, was an opportunity for Clyde Waterfront to take delegates out on the water to see the regeneration along the river. Clyde Waterfront sponsored Clyde Marine's MV Clipper and Cruiser to ferry delegates and exhibitors to Xscape, for an amazing array of cool SNO!Zone stunts, delicious hot international cuisine in all 13 restaurants and fancy footwork at the ceilidh afterwards.

Philip Riddle, Chief Executive of VisitScotland, said: "VisitScotland expo provides the perfect opportunity for Scottish tourism businesses to showcase their products and services to potential buyers from around the world - and we have more this year than ever.

"It is still a challenging time economically but we've shown what we are capable of in 2009 by being ahead of world tourism trends. Scotland is well placed to capitalise on the opportunities - with favourable exchange rates, the continuing trend in the UK for holidaying at home and the enormous strength we have in our tourism product - our country and our people. As with last year, 2010 is very much about working together for the success and growth of tourism, and that is what VisitScotland expo is all about."

International buyers at expo 2010 included decision-makers from the biggest tour operators, new niche and independent operators, wholesalers, coach tour operators, group travel organisers, conference and event organisers, wedding planners and travel agents. Exhibitors at VisitScotland expo include hotels, transport operators, restaurants and visitor attractions.
