Clydelink bid for Renfrew Yoker ferry

12 Mar 2010

Ferry operator Clydelink is one of a number of companies now bidding to take over the River Clyde route between Renfrew and Yoker.

The announcement came from SPT in January that the current passenger ferry service will be axed at the end of March.

Since then a number of companies have expressed an interest in the service and trials have been taking place.

The Evening Times reported the Clydelink sea trials. Mark Aikman, chief executive of Clydelink, said: "We are well placed to offer a seamless transition between the existing service and our proposed service. We are ready to operate on the route as soon as we achieve approval."
