IFSD shortlisted for major awards

01 Jun 2009

In the Regeneration and Renewal Awards 2009, the IFSD has been shortlisted in the categories for the 'Regeneration Partnership of the Year' and for 'Boosting the Local Economy'.

Since its launch in 2001, the IFSD has been developed by a partnership of the public and private sectors led by Scottish Enterprise and Glasgow City Council. Over £1 billion has so far been invested to transform the previously run down area of the city centre and over 15,000 jobs have moved in to the district.

Jim Watson, Director, Financial Services, Scottish Enterprise said, "To be nominated twice for such a prestigious awards programme reflects the strong relationships Scottish Enterprise and Glasgow City Council have forged with other public agencies and the private sector to drive forward the regeneration of this vitally important corner of Glasgow city centre."

The shortlisted entries will be judged by a panel of independent, experts who will visit the IFSD in June.

The winners will then be announced at a glittering awards ceremony attended by over 500 in London on Wednesday 23rd September 2009.
