Record attendance at Glasgow River Festival

Organisers of the Glasgow River Festival, today announced that this year's event had attracted a record number of visitors.

This year's Festival, on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th July, attracted in excess of 85,000 people to the banks of the River Clyde. This figure was up from 70,000 for the event in 2006.

Scott Taylor, Chief Executive of Glasgow City Marketing Bureau, commented: "The Glasgow River Festival is now truly established and the partner investment of £150,000 demonstrates excellent value for money."

"With a record number of 85,000 people attending the Festival, the opportunity now presents itself for the next three years to create an even bigger event."
