GAP has plans for Braehead

The UK's fastest growing independent plant and tool hire company, GAP Group, has secured planning permission to build a £4.5m state-of-the-art new HQ at Braehead.

To be located at Titanium Business Park at the gateway to Braehead, GAP Group's new purpose-built HQ will extend to 27,000ft2. Construction will start in January 2008 and 190 staff will be employed on site when the building is completed in December 2008.

Established in 1969, GAP Group now employs over 900 staff in 57 depots across the UK stretching from the Highlands of Scotland to the English Channel. The company's turnover has grown to more than £80m and has increased at an average of 17% per annum for the last 20 years.

Commenting, GAP Group Joint Managing Director Douglas Anderson said: "Our business is growing rapidly and we needed a pretisgious, high quality location for our new HQ. Braehead met all of our requirements, and we were particularly attracted to the mix of leisure, retail, business and housing in one location. GAP Group's staff are our most important asset and we wanted to provide them with the very best working environment."
