The official opening earlier this month of Centenary House, NFU
Mutual's new Glasgow offices, co-incided with news that the company
is recruiting around 70 new staff in Glasgow.
The majority of the new jobs are in the call centre, providing
an out of hours service for Mutual Direct customers across the
UK. The remaining jobs are in claims and underwriting.
NFU Mutual currently employs 319 people in Scotland and worked
closely with Scottish Development International to secure Regional
Selective Assistance to support the creation of new jobs in
Glasgow.
Speaking at the official opening, Lindsay Sinclair, group chief
executive, NFU Mutual said, "We are committed to strengthening our
presence in Scotland and the location of the new office is
fundamental to the success of our overall business operation.
We chose Scotland because it offers the skills, facilities and
business support necessary to ensure the continued success of our
organisation on a regional and national level."
NFU Mutual acquired the ten-storey property in Wellington Street
in the heart of the IFSD last year and occupies six floors.
Other occupiers include Chartis Insurance. The building is finished
to the highest environmental standards, achieving a BREEAM
"Excellent" rating and EPC 'B' rating.
